Why?

I enjoy visiting Oshkosh as my vacation each year, but always like to take in as many programs as I can. Coordinating them has been a nightmare, taking many hours of going over printed copies and trying to avoid conflicts. So as a software developer I decided to solve the problem for good with some software. This site is the result of that decision - and I hope it's made your trip much easier.

Me

I'm a private pilot living in Lawrence, KS. I fly with (and serve as secretary of) the Joplin Flyers Flying Club out of Joplin, MO, my hometown. I've been flying for five years and recently passed 275hrs. I enjoy landing on grass and giving Young Eagles rides, and general boring holes in the sky any other times. My day job and primary hobby (besides flying) is developing web applications in the Python programming language with the Django framework.

Regularly Scheduled Geekery

My personal site contains more detailed info on my various software projects, and also historical looks at my experiences at previous years' events. I also stream info regularly to the site when I'm on the grounds each year, so it's another place you can "watch Oshkosh" from remotely to see the show through my eyes.
